New Release: "USNA Sunset Sails" and "USNA High Noon Sails" illustrations by Joe Barsin
USNA High Noon Sails and USNA Sunset Sails are tributes to the award-winning U.S. Naval Academy sailing program and the nautical traditions of Annapolis, Maryland. Located on the Chesapeake Bay, near the Bay Bridge, USNA has the largest collegiate offshore sailing fleet in the United States and has a proud history of turning out collegiate All-Americans, College Sailors of the Year, Olympians, and America's Cup sailors.
Both illustrations are a study in warm and cool tones. Some of you may remember our Facebook contest to pick the Warm vs. Cool color illustration (see here). We were surprised by the balance between the two versions, so Joe developed both!

Joe Barsin's illustrations showcases the Navy 44s MK II sloops that are part of the USNA Offshore Sail Training Squadron (OSTS) fleet. Additional Annapolis landmarks that are part of the historical skyline are St Mary's, St Anne's, Maryland Capital, St John's College, Buddy's Crabs, Middleton Tavern, USNA Chapel, Mahan Hall and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Also, it wouldn't be a Navy Academy illustration without the Blue Angels flying overhead as they're a big part of the Academy's tradition.
